A League of Their Own: 30th Anniversary Celebration
Prime Video sought to create a special screening event to generate buzz for their original series, A League of Their Own, in conjunction with the original film’s 30th Anniversary. We brought an exclusive screening of the show’s first episode to Rockford, IL, the home of the original Peaches women’s baseball team.
Prior to the screening at the historic Coronado Movie Palace, guests were surprised with a 40s baseball-themed experience which included swing dancers, a live band, classic cars from the era, complimentary hot dogs and ballpark snacks, and a pair of pitching games that offered prizes. Inside the theater lobby, guests posed for their own baseball card which they received as a takeaway. Era-appropriate ushers distributed concessions to seated guests once inside the theater.
Following the screening, the sold out audience enjoyed an hour-long Q&A featuring cast members, including star and writer, Abbi Jacobson, producers Will Graham and Desta Tedros Reff, original AAGPBL member, Maybelle Blair, and cast members, D’Arcy Carden and Chanté Adams. Original film actress, Megan Cavanagh moderated the discussion. Local and National press worked the “grass carpet” to interview the talent, and The New York Times covered the event in a featured article.
